the intoxicating, the merry and with the cap sideways

there's a (potentially) painful irritation of my right foot. it worries me that i could be afflicted with a fast moving cancer - like Bob Marley - or my paternal-grandmother's family (the Cadwallenders, the daughters especially...).

[ and i'd quite forgotten there's a doctor in the house / an Algerian national / she advises calcium supplements, says i might be suffering from "stress-foot" ]

No Accident
...that the Platonic concept of the state was conceived in a slave society. Neither is it an accident that it goes on living to this very day: serfdom has simply been replaced by inner slavery.

Confessions of a Unitarian Saint
"I shall always respect war hereafter. The cost of life, the dreary havoc of comfort and time, are overpaid by the vistas it opens of eternal life, eternal law, reconstructing and uplifting society - breaks up the old horizon and we see through the rifts a wider vista." -- R.W. Emerson to Thos. Carlyle

“Customs officials said they were looking into whether a child pornography operation was being conducted ... Their links to the D.C. area have led authorities into a far-reaching investigation that includes the Finders - a group of about 40 people that court documents allege is led by a man named Marion Pettie - and their various homes, including the duplex apartment building in Glover Park, the Northeast Washington warehouse and a 90 acre farm in rural Madison County, Va. ..."

[ Pettie passed away in October of 2003. reins presently pulled by - surprise - a psychiatrist name of Stephen Barrett... ]

Songs teh John Fahey
The musicians on the AAFM sing with little affect. Bob Dylan sings with great affect. He is much
more dramatic than the AAFM folk. He is personal, hypnotic, focused, charismatic, clever, very
often brilliant. He with premeditation uses any vocal or rhythmic technique or trick he can uncover
to get you under his spell.

Everything he does is designed to elicit an emotional reaction on the part of the listener.

Sometimes his songs are quite lengthy.

Bob Dylan is therefore part of the Official Republic.

Bob Dylan is not a member of this insane asylum

The insane asylum exists only in Greil Marcus’ Kopf.

DeLillo's Version
The true underground is the place where power flows. That's the best-kept secret of our time. You're not the underground. Your people aren't underground people.

following Don Rumsfeld's resignation speech, wherein he informed the American people that they're too stupid to appreciate his genius, Douglas Feith wrote pretty much the same for The Washington Post. Feith, you'll recall, was once number three man at the Pentagon, one of his underlings (Larry Franklin) took the rap for transferring state secrets to AIPAC and, perhaps most telling of all, United States Army General Tommy Franks has described Feith as the "fucking stupidest guy on the face of the earth."

ps/ file our blessed 30.20 under "kaput." the man in the basement shop under what used t'be the ice cream store says he can "restore" it for, basically, what it cost new. so i'm purchase/ something new ... the Cambridge Audio 340A (in silver). a phono stage costs extree, but that's okay 'cause my turntable's been out of commission since Pittsburgh (shit.ass boy saw to that). but get this: Meester Guy says he'll give me 25% of the NAD's original value on / not bad for a 21 yr old amp / though it's prolly on account he's got the companion tuner.

pps/ that Cosmo Kramer is so off the hook! i mean, you just gotta ask...
